What a year it's been! As we look back on the past twelve months, one of the things that makes us happiest is seeing people discover the magazine, share it with friends, and connect with the wonderful people and places featured in its pages. In a world that seems to move faster every day, we're grateful that there's still an appetite for thoughtful stories, beautiful photography, and discovering what's happening right here.
As AI and digital content become an ever-bigger part of our lives, we believe there's something increasingly valuable about work created with care, curiosity, and a genuine connection to a place. Whether you're reading these pages in print or online, our hope is that you discover something new, and come away with a deeper appreciation for the place we all share.
The Hudson Valley and Catskills are special because of the people who make them so. The independent shops, restaurants, galleries, and small businesses that give our towns their character. The people who take a chance, follow a passion, create something beautiful, and welcome us through their doors. We're lucky to live and work among them.
And as independent publishers, we're especially lucky to have the support of so many local businesses. We know there are countless ways to reach an audience and plenty of choices about where to invest marketing dollars.

To the businesses that choose to advertise with us, thank you. Your trust means a great deal. You're helping us tell local stories, support writers, photographers, and designers, and bring the community together. We're proud to share these pages with you, and we don't take your partnership for granted.
As the holiday season approaches, we hope you'll take a little time to explore the businesses featured in this issue. Visit a shop you've never been to, linger over a meal, or return to a favorite place. We all appreciate the convenience of shopping online, but there's something special about a conversation with the person behind the counter, hearing the story behind an item, or discovering a gift you wouldn't have found otherwise. These small moments and personal connections are part of what makes a community a community.
And now, winter. I can say without hesitation that it's my favorite season. The silence and stillness of the woods. Skiing, walking through fresh snow, coming home to a warm fire. There's something wonderful about the world slowing down.
Even Melissa, who spent much of her life dreading winter, has come around. These days, she looks forward to a good book by the fire, more time making art, fewer obligations, and permission to do a little less. Maybe that's one of winter's gifts: the reminder that not everything needs to be faster, louder, brighter, or more convenient. Sometimes the best things are the simplest.
As we look toward the new year, we're feeling incredibly grateful. To our readers, our advertisers, and everyone who contributes to the life and spirit of the Hudson Valley and Catskills: thank you for being part of our year. Your support, enthusiasm, and belief in what makes this place special mean more than we can say.
Here's to another year of sharing stories, discovering new favorites, supporting one another, and celebrating all the things that make this corner of the world such a wonderful place to call home.
Looking forward to the new year,
