THE GRAY BARN

Woodstock Farm Sanctuary

by phoenix trent May 25, 2019

The Gray Barn has recently opened on the Sanctuary’s property in High Falls to allow visitors the opportunity to stay overnight and fully experience the magic that the farm has to offer.

For the past 15 years, Woodstock Farm Sanctuary has been helping to create, as their mission states, “a peaceful world rooted in respect and justice for all living beings.”

Through the caretaking of poorly treated farmed animals, outreach to the public, and active support of veganism, the Sanctuary has become a beacon of goodness in the Hudson Valley, and they enthusiastically welcome all who are interested in visiting with the animals and learning more about the work that they do.

Venture out and explore the Hudson Valley and its sweet little towns, all the while knowing that your money will directly support the Sanctuary’s animal rescue, education, and advocacy work.

For those who wish to support the Sanctuary by becoming members, a new option is available in the form of gorgeous accommodations:

The Gray Barn has recently opened on the Sanctuary’s property in High Falls to allow visitors the opportunity to stay overnight and fully experience the magic that the farm has to offer.

The Gray Barn is located deep in nature, and guest rooms feature their own outdoor terrace that overlook the property’s truly beautiful pastures.

This modern boutique inn offers five rooms, each with its own en suite bathroom and private entrance. Windows throughout overlook the property and the backdrop of the Shawangunk Mountains. Rooms are well-appointed and spacious, with high-end minimalist décor that allows for full appreciation of the surroundings.

This is truly a heart-opening experience.

While staying at The Gray Barn, you can wake up to a homecooked vegan breakfast, and then continue on to learn about the work of the sanctuary through a guided tour—all of this is included in your stay.

Leigh Goldstein, The Gray Barn’s hospitality coordinator, will introduce you to many of the 380 rescued animals on-site—goats, pigs, sheep, ducks, cows, chickens, rabbits, and more—who all have names and are individually cared for and respected.

Then feel free to venture out and explore the Hudson Valley and its sweet little towns, all the while knowing that your money will directly support the Sanctuary’s animal rescue, humane education, and advocacy work. This is truly a heart-opening experience.

The Gray Barn is located deep in nature, and guest rooms feature their own outdoor terrace that overlook the property’s truly beautiful pastures.

This is an animal lover’s fantasy, and you might find yourself booking an extra night at this peaceful, abundant, and truly unique natural wonderland.

There are two common rooms, plenty of natural light, an ideal space for meditation, a kitchen that is open for use, and the amenities are sourced from local, sustainable, and socially responsible brands.

High Falls is located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, and you’ll have no problem finding all sorts of beautiful places to explore during your stay. The property is located near numerous hiking trails, the historic town of High Falls, quirky and cute Rosendale, top-notch ski resorts that offer zipline activities in the summer, and the Shawangunk Ridge if you’re looking for some world-famous rock climbing.

This is truly an animal lover’s fantasy, and you might find yourself booking an extra night at this peaceful, abundant, and unique natural wonderland.
