At Belleayre Mountain, they’ve been improving terrain parks and adding competitive alpine and freeriding programs with the help of the New York Ski Educational Foundation. The new Catskill Thunder Gondola will glide you to the summit for breathtaking views of the Catskill Forest Preserve, part of $8 million in improvements under way.

Hunter Mountain is pleased to announce the opening of Hunter North, an entirely new face that’s been added to the mountain with the help of a $9-million-dollar expansion project. Hunter now offers four mountain faces, and the additional 85 acres increases the total their skiable terrain by 33 percent, adding five new trails, four new glades, and a second high-speed lift. Skiiers and snowboarders alike will find a wide range of options for all levels on this 1600-foot vertical-drop mountain, including four freestyle terrain parks and more than 65 total trails.
The resort offers convenient and fun amenities (multiple eateries, evening Snowcat tours, the Mountain Club Spa) for all that downtime off the slopes, and hosts a number of on-hill races and competitions.
