The beautiful Emerson Resort & Spa in Mount Tremper has gained well-deserved praise for its fantastic accommodations, excellent food, and luxury spa treatments. That praise is about to grow with the re-opening of the Emerson’s newly renovated spa. Offering new and improved treatments, an energizing skincare system, a fresh line of vegan, organic nail care products, and a spa luncheon menu, the renovated spa will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, September 22.
The new spa space focuses on bringing the outdoors in and is inspired by the Earth’s elements and the Catskills. It now offers 10 treatment rooms and a full-service nail salon as well as relaxation and quiet rooms. The grand opening will welcome everyone and will include tours of the spa, representatives from Elemis Biotec, complimentary sample treatments, and complimentary tastings from the spa luncheon menu by the Emerson’s Woodnotes Grille.

I was lucky enough to experience one of the spa’s new treatments. The Emerson Signature Integrative Massage is a blissful two-hour long, one-of-a-kind spa experience that can only be described as heaven on earth. It’s definitely a massage for the spa connoisseur.
Begin with an in-room consultation with a senior massage therapist, where you will share your preferences and areas of primary concern. The therapist will then use a variety of specialized modalities to design a personalized massage based on your unique needs. My very own integrative massage was conducted by massage therapist Cory. It included table Thai yoga massage with acupressure and stretching, reflexology therapy, hot stone massage, Ayurvedic scalp massage with Bringadi oil, and deep-tissue massage.
Cory is an absolutely wonderful massage therapist who stays continually engaged throughout the massage. I felt completely transformed by the end of my massage. If there is, indeed, a heaven, it just might be a never-ending Emerson Signature Integrative Massage.

Other new treatments include the Emerson Signature Pedicure, a hot pedicure that uses a Himalayan salt soak and Himalayan stone massage; the Emerson Signature Facial, utilizing active botanicals and a cold stone marma point facial massage with cold half-moon eye stones that reduce puffiness; and the Emerson Signature Stone Massage, which soothes the nervous system and strengthens the immune system with the use of warm and cold stones that glide across tired muscles. All new signature treatments include the use of either hot or cold stones.
