Tickets are now available for the Summer Hoot music and arts festival, to be held at The Ashokan Center from Friday, August 26 through Sunday, August 28, 2016. Produced by folk-roots duo Mike + Ruthy, this down-to-earth celebration of music, food, nature, and community will feature exciting local and world-class traveling performers along with family activities, local food and beer vendors, and on-site hiking and camping. The Hoot is about accessibility to all—festival tickets are “pay what you want”—as well as a family-friendly, welcoming atmosphere where a diverse crowd can enjoy great music together. Proceeds benefit The Ashokan Center and its programming.

The music begins the evening of Friday, August 26 with a “locals night,” featuring some of the best artists from the Hudson Valley and Catskills region. Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 will begin with children and family-friendly acts, while afternoons and evenings will feature rock, blues, folk, and indie acts from all over the country. Line-up is subject to change.

In addition to live music on two side-by-side volunteer-built stages, the Hoot offers a diverse range of programming for all ages, including a morning gong bath each day, arts and crafts with FiberFlame, hiking, blacksmithing, a kids’ parade, intimate concerts and workshops, and late-night revelry, including jam sessions, sing-a-longs, campfires, and a square dance.

*On Friday, the gates open at 4:30 and the music begins at 7:30pm and runs until around 12am. Saturday gates open at 9:30am and music runs until around 12am. Sunday gates open at 9:30am and music runs until about 7pm.*
