From Route 9-W at West Park, turn west onto Floyd Ackert Road (between Global Palate restaurant and the Post Office), cross the railroad tracks, and follow the Floyd Ackert Road about 1/2 mile to the foot of Burroughs Drive.</p> <p>Park here and walk up the hill to Slabsides or drive up the hill and park at the green gate on the right , walk through the gate and up the gravel road to Slabsides.<span style="color: black;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>For further information: (212) 769-5169 sponsored by the John Burroughs Association</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Use this opportunity to discover the wildlife of the woods of John Burroughs and to make a contribution to the Slabsides restoration campaign or help with construction of our new trails<a href="http://research.amnh.org/burroughs/trail_work/trail_announce_2011.html"><br /></a></p> <p>The John Burroughs Sanctuary is open without charge to walkers every day all year.
