A terrarium is a type of miniature ecosystem of plants; they are often kept as decorative or ornamental items. The first terrarium was developed by a botanist in 1842 and became a curiosity in many Victorian homes. This is such a fun project for little ones. We will work on the floor, with dirt and rocks and plants in the dead of winter. Let’s add some summer into our rooms and get messy and then monitor a little world inside a jar as the snow piles up!
