A retrospective of Judith Hoyt's work is opening this Saturday, October 3, 5-7pm at Wired Gallery (11 Mohonk Road in High Falls, NY). Hoyt's work, a cross between American folk art and expressionism, consists mostly of assemblages from discarded materials that she has "rescued". Since graduating from SUNY New Paltz in 1980, Hoyt's work has been shown all across the country, featured in many publications, won numerous prestigious awards, and included in such collections as New York's Guggenheim Museum.
