Union Vale is home to the Oswego Meeting House and Friends' Cemetery Listed in the National Register and Hamilton Gray, the inventor of the ice-cutting machine. Once a combination of farmlands and mills both history and open rustic landscapes make it great for photographers and naturalists. The township's location makes it a stone's throw from the Historic Hyde Park Trails with 8.5 miles of hiking, which connects parks and historic sites for outdoor and history connoisseurs; the 900-seat Bardavon Opera House, a bona fide "who's who" of the top past and present performances; and fine dining establishments.
