Could anything make a summer evening on the banks of a Catskill creek even better? The Emerson boldly says “yes.” This summer, the Mount Tremper resort is hosting an inspired concert series on the last Saturday of each month that will make the mountains ring and your spirit sing out loud.
The newly formed Catskills Supergroup pulls together players who’ve been the rock-steady wellspring of the Woodstock scene for decades: Bruce Katz (keyboard), Randy Ciarlante (drums and vocals), Chris Vitarello (guitar and vocals), and Jay Collins (sax, keyboard, and vocals). Collectively, these musicians have somewhere around a century of history touring and recording with national and international household names. They’ve been integral to more than a hundred albums. And playing together under the stars behind the Woodnotes Grille at Emerson Resort is likely to inspire the kind of performances you’ll remember for the rest of your life. As if that weren’t enough, each concert will present a TBA “special guest.”
Dinner at the beautifully designed Woodnotes Grille, with its handcrafted food and drink, would make a great beginning to what is sure to be a fabulous Saturday night. During the shows, which will be near the firepit, ping-pong table, and life-sized chess set, you’ll be able to purchase snacks and drinks thoughtfully chosen for a summer evening out.
Overnight guests of the Emerson pay nothing. Tickets for others are just $25. The shows will take place from 8 to 10pm on June 30, July 28, and August 25. Sample the first one and we’re betting you’ll be back. Call 845-688-2828 to find out more.
