Simple paper plate masks for kids and adults alike! Make a bunch and have a masquerade ball!

Homemade: Check out this fall's make em yourself Mask Ideas

1.Gather your materials: Scissors, string, brushes, marker, acrylic paint, glue stick, construction papers and paper plates

2.Draw your mask's shape with marker

 

3.Cut-out the mask and eyeholes (an Xacto blade may be best for the eyes)

4.Use the mask to shape a beak that fits nicely

 

5.Cut-out and fold beak. Draw and cut-out "headdress feathers".

6.Paint the beck and mask face. You may need 2 or 3 coats.

 

7.Use your glue stick to glue your papers together.

8.Glue your "feathers" to your mask and then glue the tabs of your beak and stick it to the back of the mask.

 

9.Use your scissors, knife or Xacto to make a hole for your string to be knotted through. Then add any additional decoration.

1.Gather your materials: Scissors, xacto, brushes, glitter, paint, feathers, paper plate and craft glue.

2.Then draw on the plate the shape you'd like.

 

3.Cut out the mask with scissors and the eyes with an Xacto blade if you like. Be Careful!

4.Mix green and blue paint to get a deep turquoise and paint.

 

5.Let the paint dry and then draw fencing onto the mask face with your craft glue bottle. Then douse mask with... GLITTER!

6.After the glue has dried blow or tap the glitter off.

 

7.Draw a line of glue around the edge of the mask and then place your chosen feathers around the perimeter. Make sure to leave a gap for your string.

8.Poke a hole in your mask for your string. You may use an Xacto for this task, please be careful!
