Slide Talk and Reading by Frances Gray Archipenko
Hailed as the “Picasso of Sculpture” for bringing Cubism to sculpture, the Ukrainian-born Alexander Archipenko was world famous when the young Frances Gray Archipenko enrolled in the Archipenko School of Art in Woodstock in the 1950s. She married the considerably older sculptor in 1957, and they were together until his death. She will show slides of his work and read from her new memoir, My Life With Alexander Archipenko.
