VANDERBILT GARDEN TEA
The Frederick W. Vanderbilt Garden Association will hold a fundraising Garden Tea on Sunday, September 13, from 2 to 4 PM, rain or shine under a tent in the Formal Gardens of the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site on Route 9 in Hyde Park. The tea will feature selected Harney & Sons teas, scones, tea sandwiches, clotted cream, and French macarons. The event is in the spirit of the “Downton Abbey” era, and guests are invited to wear period clothing from the early 1900's, party garden wear, or even a fancy hat. Guest speaker will be Margie Coffin Brown.
Tickets are $45 for the general public and $40 for Vanderbilt Garden Association members, and must be purchased in advance at http://vanderbilttea2015.brownpapertickets.com or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
Proceeds from this fundraiser are used for the continued maintenance and rehabilitation of the Vanderbilt Formal Gardens by the not-for-profit, all-volunteer Frederick W. Vanderbilt Garden
