Wendy Weinrich founder of Mountaintop Waldorf School will be leading a Lantern making workshop at the library and then leading the children in a traditional Waldorf Lantern Walk on the front lawn of the library. This event is a part of the events happening throughout town with Woodstock Open House. ** See Lesley to sign up for the workshop! Workshop is at 5:00pm.**

Come celebrate Woodstock Open House with the Woodstock Library during this luminary extravaganza! All children young and old are invited to experience the enchantment of walking through a path of hundreds of luminaries carrying a handmade lantern created in a workshop prior to the walk. Both the Workshop and Lantern Walk will be led by Wendy Weinrich, Waldorf certified early childhood educator and founder of the local Waldorf inspired Mountaintop School.

In December, as the natural world darkens, our inner light wants to shine forth. In the lantern walk this light appears as the flame enclosed in each child’s lantern. The lantern making workshop at 5:00pm will have each child creating their own glass lantern. The children will learn the story behind the lantern walk as well as beautiful songs to sing as they walk through the luminary path which leads them to a circle in which they await in silence for the arrival of the star fairy.
