(RED HOOK, NY) -- From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th Great Song Farm, which runs a 110 member on-site vegetable CSA, will host a free community event for all ages. Headlining the event is the band, Might As Well, offering original, poetic, narrative songs about human struggles and hope, with influences from rock, classical and folk music. Band members include singer songwriter and guitarist Séamus Maynard, vocalist, Meaghan Witri, and bassist, Seth Travins – aka Sauerkraut Seth.

This free community event will include a hands-on farm tour to meet and help feed the horses, cows, and newly arrived Nigerian dwarf goats; to help collect chicken eggs, and to visit the bees and enjoy a taste of honey. There will also be draft horse fieldwork demonstrations. Great Song’s horses, Sunny & Kate, provide living, clean, and sustainable energy – some of the many benefits they provide over the tractor they have replaced. Following the demo and tour, there will be informal lawn games for all ages, and a potluck dinner alongside the event’s musical offerings. Donations will be accepted to support the musicians. Visit www.greatsongfarm.com for the full event schedule and details, as well as live music videos of a few Might As Well songs.
