For Goodness Bake

Saturday, Jun 06 2015;

137 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508

Bring your friends, family and sweet tooth to FOR GOODNESS BAKE, a bake sale to raise funds and awareness for Beacon’s Green Teen Community Gardening Program.

100% of proceeds from the bake sale will benefit Green Teen and their work to empower Beacon youths to be effective agents of change in their community by immersing them in the local food system. A program of Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, Green Teen teaches life and work skills through hands on experiences in farming and gardening, health and nutrition, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Every year the teens grow 1,200 square feet of vegetables, sell them via a mobile market, and organize an annual photography exhibit highlighting their gardening experiences.

Some of the Hudson Valley’s most celebrated amateur and professional bakers and confectioners are donating their time and talents to FOR GOODNESS BAKE. A wide array of sweet and savory baked treats, confections, and vegan and gluten-free items will be available.

Throughout the day, the Green Teens themselves will be conducting garden tours and leading hands-on activities for children at their Common Greens Garden at Tito Santana Taqueria, located directly across the street from the bake sale.

*Cash only, please.*

We hope to see you there!
