Hard ciders are all the rage from coast to coast, and the Hudson Valley is home to some of the finest hand-crafted farmstead ciders around. For this event, Annette Tomei – noted food and beverage educator (and our very own GM) – will guide an intimate group through a tasting of six different local hard ciders and two fresh ciders, all made within just a few miles of Main Course, and available in the Marketplace all season. Each flight of ciders will be accompanied by an assortment of small bites of cider-friendly foods prepared with local ingredients (many from the same farms that grow the apples for the cider) – we will taste, and enjoy a brief discussion of why certain foods pair well with certain ciders, and why not! (This class includes light bites, but is not a dinner. Attendees will be given a 25% discount on food from the Marketplace menu immediately preceding or after class).
