This intimate program features Buxtehude’s stunning, yet relatively unknown, Jesu Membra nostri, for chorus, strings, and soloists. Considered to be the first Lutheran oratorio—a precursor to Bach’s exquisite Passions—it is divided into seven, short cantatas.
