Woodstock Farm Sanctuary will host a screening of the newly released documentary “The Last Pig” on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7:15 p.m. in the Rosendale Theatre. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Bob Comis, the former pig farmer who is the subject of the film, and the leaders of two local sanctuaries for farmed animals: Woodstock Farm Sanctuary's Executive Director, Rachel McCrystal, and Catskill Animal Sanctuary's Founder and Executive Director, Kathy Stevens.
“The Last Pig” is a documentary that raises crucial questions about equality, the value of compassion and the sanctity of life. Comis’ soul-bearing narrative carries the audience through his final year of farming pigs, the struggle to reinvent his life, and the ghosts that will haunt him forever. “The Last Pig” aims to propel a shift in our society’s relationship to non-human beings and our capacity for compassion.
Tickets are a suggested donation of $10 – or $5 for current Woodstock Farm Sanctuary members – and will be available at the Rosendale Theatre Box Office beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the night of the screening.
