The Thomas Cole National Historic Site in Catskill, NY marks the birthplace of American art, where the Hudson River School of landscape painting began. At its core, the organization’s purpose is to regenerate Cole’s revolutionary creativity so that it touches people’s lives today. Activities include tours of the historic house and studios, special exhibitions of both 19th century and contemporary art, "The Parlors" a technology-driven immersive experience, maps directing visitors to the sites in nature that inspired Hudson River School paintings, and much more.
