About Jayla Kai Smith
I am a homeschooled high schooler also attending community college and living in the Hudson Valley of NY surrounded by the rich music culture and great musicians and mentors of our area.
I started writing music a few years ago. It was actually my mom who’d suggested it– she mentioned my love of writing and music and thought maybe I’d combine them some time through songwriting. At the time, I had just picked up the guitar and was about 6 years into learning classical violin. Maybe I had some sort of creative awakening and pretty soon I had written lots of songs. Very few were great, but they were exciting to me and my delighted family. I had always used writing in loosely poetic prose as an outlet– now I began singing and playing as well.

Songwriting has become really important to me. I go through more and less creative periods, sometimes focusing on developing my technical musical skills, playing with other people, or writing constantly. Sometimes lyrics and songs come out easily; other times they’re more elusive. Music, and my music specifically, is an incredibly important part of me now. As silly as it is to admit, I really want people to hear my music. I love the idea that I can have an impact beyond who I can meet in a lifetime. I want to share the way I feel when I’m living, being and creating. I want to be heard.

About Jack and Cameron
Between both Jack and Cameron their performance and recording credits include Rufus and  Martha Wainwright ,Patti Smith, Sean Lennon , Joan Osborne , Freddy Johnston.
They are supporting their original music as a guitar duet playing songs that range in the style of Tin Pan Alley to Chet Atkins.

About Dave Kearney
Songwriting became a beacon for me when I heard my first Hank Williams recording as a child. I started following the call of that muse right about the time I encountered my first recordings of Mickey Newbury and Roger Miller. I cut my teeth in the Chicago music scene of the 60’s, lived and pitched songs in Nashville, and played amongst legends in Woodstock, NY where I now live. I’ve followed the footsteps of my influences: Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Malcolm Holcombe. I’ve actually met and been encouraged by Guy, and been lucky enough to have made a lifelong friend in Malcolm. I’ve played and sung my songs in every state south of the Canadian border and east of the Mississippi River. Now, after all these years, I’m still on that journey, guitar in hand and heart to the wind; mining my life and the life I see around me, always listening for the next song. I don’t suppose this love affair will end until I run out of road, and who knows for sure- maybe not even then.
Since moving to the New York area, I have shared the bill with Mary Gautier, John Hall, Malcolm Holcombe, Tom Rush, Garnet Rogers, Tom Pacheco, and others…
